BRAVA Initiative

What Is BRAVA?

American Express “State of Women-Owned Businesses Report 1997-2011” states the growth of women-owned businesses outpaced the total growth of new businesses by 50%. Over the same time span, the number of women-owned business in South Carolina grew by 63.8%, with revenue growth of 38.4% during the same time frame.

However, businesses owned by women tend to be smaller both in terms of sales and employees than businesses as a whole. To help women business owners, ECEW is launching BRAVA to foster the growth and profitability of local businesses that women own.

Mission

The MISSION of the ECEW BRAVA Initiative: To foster the growth and success of entrepreneurial companies through business support resources and services including physical space, capital, coaching, common services and networking.

How You Can Get Involved

One way is to join ECEW, or encourage someone you know to do the same. Our website is www.ecewsc.com. Sign up for our weekly e-newsletter, even without joining the organization.

If you are interested in working with a business mentor, let us know.

We need mentors for our Smart & Savvy mentorship program. If you’re interested in finding out more, simply send an email with “mentor” in the subject line to info@bravasc.com, and we will contact you.

Providing funds for scholarships is another way you can contribute.
